A Trip To The Richmond Marina Bay

Today I woke up and the sun was out.  We decided to go to the Richmond Marina Bay, a tourist attraction in California which has a lot of historical value. At the time of the war (WWII) the ships were used to  carry cargo and they used to dock in the marina bay.

Sun and Sea

Before we set off I took a photo of the sun.  Take a look at the picture below;  Looks like I am in a holiday resort, doesn’t it?  Sometimes I can’t believe I am actually here… the sights are just so beautiful even the pictures don’t do it enough justice. Sometimes you just have to be here to appreciate it.

When we arrived at the Marina Bay I took some even more beautiful pictures by the sea. Take a look at some of them below;

After a while we stopped by and took some photographs by the steps leading to the water.

Bike Riding

Since we had a lot of walking to do, riding a bike was the best way to get a lot of this done without getting too tired. I switched with my friends younger brother who was riding the scooter and I had a bit of a go on that.  As I hadn’t ridden the bike in a long time I was not very comfortable riding without the bars so I stayed on the scooter for much longer.

More History

We read a lot about the history of the marina bay whilst on the go and this information standpoint.  With so much segregation going on at this time a lot of the black people weren’t allowed to take part in the events.  As this was the time that slavery was abolished a lot of black people migrated to California and were still not given equal opportunities.

Anyway, It’s nice to be reminded of these things because a lot has changed in that respect.  Thank God for that.

More Pictures

On the way back we took a lot of photo’s and here are some of them. My friend’s younger brother picked up some flowers and decorated the rock with. He really is too cute and reminds me of my youngest brother. So inquisitive and at the same time full of knowledge. Honestly, I really wasn’t as smart when I was his age. Anyway there he is on his own and with his sister (my friend),  so cute, isn’t he?

As you  all can see I am having so much fun over here and learning lot at the same time too.  It’s still afternoon at this time so I have some more shopping to do.  Watch this space for more updates on what I get up to.

Thanks for reading and leave your comments below.
